Totally out of step

Re: Our pot laws should be axed not toughened up for votes Province April 25/2011

I was at an all candidates meeting the other evening and my incumbent Conservative MP Randy Kamp was asked about all the new prisons and the law, and he made it clear that people that break the law should be in prison.

As far as I know 52 percent of Canadians want pot legalized and I believe the figure for BC is 68 percent want pot legalized, but it is against the law.

I wonder how you are going to feel when your mother or father or son or daughter is put in one of our brand new jails for smoking a product that is as common as booze, never mind the fact that it will cost Canadians over $300,000 a year to keep them there.

The Conservatives are so out of step with Canadians values on so many issues such as ethics, pot, global warming, public health care, civil rights (G20), women's rights, torture, what our military is to be used for, killing endangered animals such as polar bears, grizzly bears, blue fin tuna and the cruel archaic seal slaughter, to name a few.

A Conservative majority should be a frightening thing to most Canadians, it was painful to watch as a minority government.

Think about the very real consequences of where you put that X when you vote.
