Tim Flannery a best selling Australian author and scientist is baffled to see Canada’s election campaign side-stepping climate change and environmental issues.
Mr. Flannery is chief commissioner of the Australian governments climate commission, and says the environment is one of the top issues everywhere he travels.
It is no mystery Mr. Flannery our Prime Minister Mr. Harper does not believe in climate change, formerly known as global warming before governments like Mr. Harpers succeeded in minimizing and denigrating the imminent threat of human activities impact on the earths ecological systems.
As a result any politician that dares to burst Canadians little bubble of complacency pays a high price politically for resurrecting this growing reality deficit.
Canada will pay dearly for this mistake economically and most tragically environmentally.
Sadly Canadians could have been at the cutting edge of green technologies and the trillions of dollars the world will have to spend on greening the planet if our civilization is to survive, but thanks to the Conservatives traditional backwardness we have been relegated to the back of the pack because of a back to the future instead of a forward to the future Prime Minister.
