Conservative ideological wet dream

Thank God Canadians can still count on the Supreme courts to show some common sense.
I am speaking about the Conservatives purely ideological decision to shut down a harm reduction program INSITE, that works on many levels from drug deaths, getting addicts off drugs, to stopping the spread of diseases such as aids.

The government lawyer talks about Mr. Clements being misinterpreted and not having decided to shut in-site down, he says "it was just never dealt with”, after all give the man time.
Mr. Clement said that safe injection sites quote  “divert valuable dollars away from treatment” in spit of the indisputable fact that research shows reduced drug-related deaths, insite contains the spread of HIV/AIDS, reduces public disorder in surrounding areas, and helps addicts enter detox and other treatment programs.

The government has asked the courts to ignore all that positive research in their decision who has jurisdiction over insite.

It seems that the Conservatives would rather those valuable dollars go to that other at risk group lawyers instead, I can only guess at how many millions of public tax dollars have been squandered on this stupid if not cruel ideological war against drug addicts and sanity since 2008.

Mr. Harper might want to see that these unfortunates are our fathers, mothers and children, uncles and cousins and could even be voters.

One thing is for sure if the Conservatives have control over this issue there will be a lot more people dying for nothing.

Where is that christian compassion, empathy, common sense?

Isn’t it great having a government that is a hundred years behind the population, thats whats so great about our first past the post electoral system.
